Spirometer calculator (FEV1/FVC ratio, percent of Reference value)

Several years ago, I wrote a Pdf program that calculates FEV1/FEV6 ratio, and FEV1 as a percent of predicted, (using height, age and ethnicity, white or Chinese). The program then classifies COPD into none, mild, moderate or severe (based on the FEV1/FEV6 Ratio and percent of predicted FEV). I've been using a Piko 6 spirometer which has been surprisingly accurate in classifying COPD when I compare my office results to official hospital spirometry results. The piko 6 sells online at: http://shopping.nspirehealth.com/ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=44&IID=833 I've rewritten the program in HTML for integration with OSCAR. Oscar requires two measurements, FEV1 and FEVR for full integration with David's COPD Adviser. To the best of my knowledge the results are accurate. Please advise me if any inconsistencies are noted. References and formulas contained in the script: Male: White Predicted FEV1 = (0.5536-0.01303*v_Age) - (0.000172*v_Age*v_Age) +( 0.00014098*v_Ht*v_Ht) Chinese Predicted FEV1 = -2.404-(0.0254*v_Age)+(0.03978*v_Ht) Female: White Predicted FEV1 = (0.4333-0.00361*v_Age) - (0.000194*v_Age*v_Age) + (0.00010846*v_Ht*v_Ht) Chinese Predicted FEV1 = -1.272-(0.0199*v_Age)+(0.02825*v_Ht) FEV6 is used as a surrogate for FVC http://www.pftforum.com/blog/whats-normal-about-fev1-and-how-much-does-ethnicity-matter/ Hankinson JL, Odencrantz JR, Fedan, KB.
