- you can use the script I wrote and run it as a cron job on your server to run daily. It autoprunes to a months worth of compressed backup plus monthly backups so while it doesn't fill your hard drive quickly, ensure that your disc space is sufficient. By default it uses the same password as you use for MySQL to encrypt the backup so you should mark permissions so that you have to be root to view
